Lindisfarne Explores E-Learning

The Seahouses teaching base at Seahouses Hostel has got off to a good start with four Reader trainees and a number of auditors that will vary from one module to another. Lindisfarne is taking its first steps towards providing e-learning; tutors visit the centre for a minimum of 50% of each module and provide e-learning for the remaining sessions. During 2010/11 a variety of approaches to e-learning is being tested with some ‘chat room’ based opportunities and some provision of resources for students to work through between sessions with online/telephone tutor support as required. This e-learning pilot will be reviewed at the end of the current academic year with a view to Lindisfarne putting in place whatever additional resources might be required for further e-learning opportunities across the region.
