New Member of Staff for Lindisfarne
Lindisfarne is delighted to be able to introduce you to its newest core staff member, Peter Kashouris, who has joined the team as a part-time Tutor.
An increase in Lindisfarne’s student numbers in September left the staff busier than ever and it was soon apparent that they needed to take on an additional person to help share the workload. Peter undertook some module teaching for Lindisfarne in 2009/10 it was evident that he had significant theological skills. Peter will be working with Lindisfarne for one day per week to teach and act as personal tutor to a number of students.
Peter writes: ‘I am currently the parish priest at St Oswald Durham and St Mary Shincliffe, and am very much enjoying working with Lindisfarne. I feel privileged to be a minister in this beautiful region with its rare history of Christian study, service and passion, and look forward to sharing in more of its life through the training ministry of Lindisfarne. Previously I served in the amazing parish of St. Hilda Hartlepool, the site of Hild’s original monastery, a magnificent Early English Church, and the home of many warm Christians, yet a place of high unemployment which brought its own challenges. Before that I had served my curacy in London. My father came from Cyprus to London in the 1960’s and married a woman whose family originated in Holy Island, so I have returned to some family roots here.’
